Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 12: After successfully roping some influential leaders, top leadership of newly formed “Apni Party” has started the process to lure some prominent Congress leaders from erstwhile Doda district and plains of Jammu province.
And more importantly, discussions are also going on with the prominent political figure of Jammu province and Apni Party leadership is trying to convince him to the join the newly formed political outfit.
Credible sources said that some prominent Congress leaders of erstwhile Doda district, comprising Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts, were in constant touch with “Apni Party” leadership and they will take decision at appropriate time. “Over half a dozen Congress leaders from erstwhile Doda district are in touch with Apni Party leaders. Even some leaders had given their consent to join the party on Sunday but they have changed their mind at the eleventh hour”, sources said.
Sources said that in the coming days, Congress is likely to face revolt in erstwhile Doda district because most of the leaders were not happy with the prevailing situation within the party because drawing room politicians-who have no base in the public, have hijacked the party.
Meanwhile sources revealed that “Apni Party” leadership has opened channel of communication with a prominent political personality of Jammu region. “It is premature to say whether that political personality will join our party or not but one thing is very much clear that our communication has been started with him”, a leader of Apni Party told The Early Times, on the condition of anonymity. The leader was hoped that they will successfully convince the said leader to join the newly floated outfit.
