Early Times Report
jammu, Mar 26: The first death in UT of Jammu and Kashmir due to the COVID-19 was reported on Thursday. However, the question remains whether it was the inefficient administration or the deadly virus that killed the 65 year old man in Srinagar.
Kashmir valley reported first death due to the coronovirus as the 65 year old man from Sopore (Presently living in Hyderpora) died at Chest Disease hospital Srinagar on Thursday morning. He had a travel history of New Delhi and UP where he was part of the Tablighi Jamaat, attended by people from Malaysia and Indonesia.
However, what could put several JK babus in trouble is the fact that the victim had revealed his complete travel history to the medical department after his arrival in Kashmir valley and in spite of the looming threat, he was let go by the hospital staff.
Such dereliction of duties seems to have put the lives of entire populace in danger and people are terming the demise of the elderly man on Thursday a heinous murder instead of a mere death due to the prevalent pandemic. "Now two innocent children have been tested positive. These two kids are the grand children of the deceased. If the hospital wouldn't have discharged him, many would have been saved from the infectious disease. Those involved must be tried for murder and not just the negligence of duties," says a netizen while commenting on the issue.
Pertinently. divisional commissioner Kashmir has appointed additional commissioner Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain Mir to enquire into the matter within a period of two days.
