| SIF demands reservation for POJK refugees | | |

Jammu, May 20: All J&K POJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum has decided to apprise the members of delimitation commission about reservation of POJK refugees.
A meeting of Forum was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Adv. Amrik Singh President and joined by Surjit.Singh general secretary of Forum.
The first constituent Assembly of J&K passed a bill and reserved 25 seats for POJK out of 111 J&K Assembly seats and later on one seat was released for Mendhar constituency and rest of 24 seats are still kept reserved for POJK people.
The Forum Core Committee members wanted to draw the attention of the commission that since about more than 10 decade have been passed the DPs of 1947 are badly deprived of their democratic rights.
“Neither they have been compensated of their left out moveable or immoveable properties at PoK nor their political rights have been restored till date and now the delimitation commission has resumed their work in connection with to increase and rotation of the reserved seats and seats must be reserved for POJK refugees”, they said. Harbhajan Singh S.Bhupinder Singh Digiana S Gursimran Singh S. Khazan Singh S. Mohinder Singh Pritam Singh S. Avtar Singh S. Jagjit Singh also attended the meeting. |
