Lessons Learnt from CoVID-19
6/12/2020 12:35:15 AM

Aquib Thaker

Did we survive? or did we fight? Those are the questions we should be asking ourselves being a country of over 1.3 billion people. we face the greatest risk of contagious diseases because interaction is in our culture and we cannot limit our contacts. With that much of risk we need a lot of assistance in healthcare a lot whether it's active or passive. We're stuck in this pandemic and we're merely fighting and mostly surviving (Thanks to our immune systems). With communication being this strong we learnt some lessons, to which our approach and consciousness should be at par to fight the next pandemic and not just survive it. This pandemic of CoVid-19 has taught us a lot many things the basic of which is to STOP deterioration of nature. Every single thing we've in our lives is from nature, every basic necessity is from nature. But we are backstabbing nature by exploiting the resources. Pushing everything to its limits. Nature provided us with an umbrella (The ozone layer) and made a hole in it, how foolish can we get?. This pandemic has contained us in our homes and meanwhile the ozone has healed itself to normal. That's a lesson nature is trying to teach us to be protective and stopping the deterioration of nature. When we talk of our country we're a rich country with poor management and chaos. A place where doctors and researchers are taken for granted and paid averagely. If you pay them averagely you're ought to receive the average service and that's a bitter truth. We should learn from this pandemic and invest a lot more of the funds in the healthcare sector, doctors and healthcare workers should be paid better. And researchers should be paid well so that they can study and stop the next pandemic from even starting. In a situation like this every single person needs to be informed of the situation and stopping a contagious disease like this requires breaking the chain which can be achieved by informing everyone about it and Internet is the only possible way to do such a thing. Internet should be provided to every citizen on average prices so as to help the communication get stronger. Personal hygiene must be a priority for everyone whether there's a disease or not we carry a lot of microorganisms with our hands which can cause dangerous diseases. Just washing your hands regularly can prevent up to 89% of diseases. When people contain themselves to their homes economy suffers, work suffers, careers suffer, studies suffer, daily waging suffers. After this is over for good we should focus on providing people with works that can be done from home make way for online management of works. Well, freedom and entertainment is what people crave for bit putting a halt to it for a while can save millions of lives. Global challenges like these have no boundaries and hence can spread to every corner of thus world without a nod so there should be unity among nations to prevent and cure anything of this sort. China had faced this disease in 2002-03 so, when something happens once, the next time we should be able to contain it at any cost and every measure should ‘be taken for the well being of everyone.
All the riches and fame that you have right now will not save you from this disease. So, it’s time to share your blessings to the less fortunate, especially to those front liners like doctors, nurses, paramedics, police and other unsung heroes who are taking care of the COVID-19 patients. Always respect one another no matter what, never look down on anyone, because happiness depends on your attitude and good deeds, not on earthly things. So let us show compassion and kindness to one another.
During this time of pause, people are reaching out to each other in astounding ways. Covid-19 confronts all of us with numerous contradictions and how to solve them will determine the direction of the post Covid 19 world. We live in one of those times that mark a turning point in the history of humanity. The rich and poor are equally affected by this virus. We got to know that money is not so important in a real crisis. We are all in a rat race running after money, but now we are in a situation where there is no medicine that money can buy. There are no flight tickets, and essentials are running out in some countries. Even the richest people cannot escape the pandemic that has no geographical boundary. Music concerts and football match tickets are unavailable for all, not only for the poor. Major events all around the world have been cancelled. All passports are equal in a pandemic. No passport can take you anywhere. No passport assures you that you can survive the pandemic. Fourth, less is more. While I was trying to apply social distancing and minimizing contact, I realized that less is more. Finally, the most important value in life is love. As we face COVID-19, we care less about our salary like, promotions, job titles and trivial fights. Everything that we valued too much has become less important.
It is reminding us that we are all equal Regardless of culture, religion, Occupation, financial status or how famous we are. This disease Treats us all equally perhaps we should too. Corona has proved that everything around us is so temporary. Things our lives revolved around work, gym, malls, movies, society have all gone for a toss as we are learning to live without them. It has taught us that in the end it's your own home and family that keeps you safe. In the end we are one humanity We should mobilize ourselves to create a better world with lessons learned from crisis.
