DDC chairs public awareness camp at village Bhatan- Nagseni

KISHTWAR, July 18: District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara chaired a day long public awareness camp here at SAGY village Bhatan, Nagseni, the other day.
The district heads of concerned departments educated the inhabitants of the Panchayat Bhatan about the various centrally sponsored schemes and other welfare schemes.
The district officers along with other field functionaries briefed the participants about the government Schemes meant for the uplift and welfare of the common people in these far flung areas. The departmental heads and field functionaries underscored the eligibility criteria , pre-requisites and the aims and objectives of key schemes like PM-KISSAN, Kisan Credit Card, Soil health Card for Agriculture sector, various education assistance and other assistance schemes for the labourers and their wards offered by Labour department, Dairy entrepreneurship programme, poultry venture capital fund scheme, Integrated Diary Development Scheme of Animal Husbandry, Rashtriya krishi Vikas Yojana, National Livestock Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Special scholarship Scheme for students , Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana, Pre matric scholarship, Post matric scholarship, Old age pension and other social welfare schemes among others to the masses present on the occasion.
The DDC said that Agriculture being the primary occupation in this area has very high potential and hence the youth, particularly, those who have returned from the other states due to COVID-19 crisis must take up agriculture and allied activities to earn their livelihood.
Meanwhile, the DDC also inspected the stalls put up by different departments showcasing their departmental products and schemes through posters, leaflets, booklets etc.
The main highlight of the awareness camp was AYUSH immunity booster medicines which were distributed by the department of Indian System of Medicine AYUSH Kishtwar among the farmers on the spot.
ISM doctors also gave health tips to the locals and highlighted the various SOPs to be followed to stay safe from COVID-19.
Earlier, enroute DDC also meet with various public delegations led by Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area.
He gave patient hearing to their demands which included repair of PMGSY Road Bhatan, provision of Water Supply Scheme for Bhagana among others. He assured them that their demands will be redressed in time a bound manner.
Among others present on the occasion were Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kishtwar Dr Amir Hussain; Block Development council Chairman Nagseni, Mohd Ashraf; BDO Bounjwah, Din Mohd Afaqi; Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Anoop Kumar; District Social Welfare Officer ,Tariq Parveez Qazi; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar, Dr Raman Dhar; District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kishtwar, Dr Farhat Bashir; XEn Jal Shakti, N K Gupta; Tesildar Nagseni, Majid Jahangir; Block Development Officer, Nagseni Abhay Indu Sharma, besides AEE PDD, PRIs and field functionaries.
