Early times Report

Jammu, Aug 6: Indian Institute of Mass Communication, IIMC, a premier institute of journalism and mass communication in India, has begun the process of admissions to various courses for the academic year 2020-21. The institute offers Post-graduate Diploma Courses in Journalism in English, Hindi, Radio & TV and Advertising & Public Relations.
Due to Covid-19 restricting free movement of the candidates to the examination centres, no entrance test will be conducted this year. The Institute has decided to go for a marks-based selection, as a special case, this year. Accordingly, more weightage will be given to the marks scored by candidates in qualifying examinations, up to Graduation level, including Intermediate and Matriculation examinations. It will be followed by an online interview to be conducted by IIMC for the short listed candidates. IIMC having its main campus at New Delhi has five regional campuses at Jammu, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amaravati and Kottayam. At present, Jammu campus offers course in English Journalism only.
The prospectus and procedure for admissions through electronic mode has been notified by IIMC and desirous candidates can apply for the courses of their choice electronically.
The candidates may visit the official website of IIMC ; www.iimc.nic.in for further details. It is further reiterated that the candidates must read the prospectus and detailed instructions before filling up the application form.
