KVK Reasi extends help to farmers

Reasi, Sept 3: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) is continuously supporting the farmers through different activities like by providing agro and allied sectors advisories and agro inputs during the COVID-19 crisis.
According to the incharge, Sr.Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, the technical guidelines on different crops such as maize, blackgram, green gram, sesamum, sorghum, vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants etc. are continuously provided to the farmers by the KVK, Reasi even during COVID-19 pandemic. He said that KVK, Reasi has provided quality seeds of different Kharif season crops and other organic inputs such as biopesticides, biofungicides and biofertilizers to the farmers so that the effect of COVID-19 can be minimized.
He informed that KVK has laid Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) and On Farm Trials (OFTs) on different crops in different locations of the district and has provided necessary guidelines to the farmers.
He narrated that farmers have been encouraged to increase the quality and quantity of their crops production even during the COVID-19 pandemic by using the scientific technologies.
He added that special guidelines on fruits and vegetables processing have also been provided to the Self Help Group (SHGs) members and they have been advised to prepare and market the processed fruits/vegetables products.
