DDC chairs meeting of Sanctioning committee

KATHUA, Sept 3: District Development Commissioner, Kathua Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired a meeting of Sanctioning Committee to finalise eligible cases under Laadli Beti Scheme, here at DC office complex.
CPO, Kathua Uttam Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Kathua Ashok Chaudhary, Child Development Project Officers of Kathua District, Officers of FCS&CA and District Treasury were also present.
At the outset, DPO, ICDS, Ritu Mahajan (Member Secretary) threw light on the provision and guidelines of the Laadli Beti Scheme.
She informed the meeting that all such girls who were born on or after 01-04-2015 and the parents having annual income less than Rs 75,000 are eligible under the scheme. Under the scheme an amount of Rs 1000 per month is deposited by the government in the Beneficiary girl's account till she attains the age of 14 years which can be withdrawn after 21 years of age or above, she added. A total of 1880 Cases were proposed and put before the Sanctioning Committee for the approval. The committee scrutinized the forms and approved 1879 applications of eligible candidates.
The DDC called upon the participating departments to spread maximum awareness about the scheme especially in remote habitations of the district.
