| Councilor Ward No 42 kick starts deep drain work | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 11: Councilor of Ward No 42 of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Vijay Choudhary along with her husband Choudhary Manmohan Singh, former Mayor JMC, started the work of construction of deep drain in Sector-5 along the nallah and area surrounding Pritam Bakery’s lane. The work was started in the presence of Junior Engineer JMC Manjot Singh and Sanitary Superwisor Subash Gill. Last month, due to heavy rain, nallah overflowed causing water to enter houses of people living in this lane. Choudhary visited the site and when the residents raised the issue that small sized and broken drains in their lanes are causing them huge loss, she assured the locals that he will personally oversee that the work on drains start immediately as soon as the rains end. Today they fulfilled this long pending demand of drains maintenance. Gathered people thanked Choudhary’s initiative, they shared with the Councilor that the black topping of their lane was last done when Choudhary Manmohan Singh was the Councilor, after that not even one leader ever visited their area and now thanks to both Manmohan Singh and Vijay Choudhary, for the early redressal of their long pending demand. Vijay Choudhary assured the gathering that black topping of the road should be done on priority after completion of tender formalities for this job. Choudhary also asked the senior citizens of the area who do not have any source of income to visit her office and collect the pension form for their old age pensions.
