Jammu, Nov 2: While the annual Darbar Move is set to reopen in Jammu in the coming week, an alert has been sounded across the winter capital to thwart any apprehended terror strike.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have inputs that Pakistan sponsored terrorists were desperate to strike in Jammu after the reopening of the Durbar offices.
Sources said the Raj Bhawan has been informed about the nefarious designs of the neighboring country while the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was personally monitoring the situation.
Sources said a well-coordinated system has been put in place between the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, the Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force to foil any apprehended terror act.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have raised the alarm in the wake of last few months of infiltration bids and smuggling of arms and ammunition from borders along the Jammu region.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have inputs that some of the arms smuggled into Indian territory could reach Jammu district and that terror groups were desperate to make such attempts.
While the Jammu and Kashmir Police are on the toes, sources said the Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Sridhar Patil, is personally coordinating with the other wings of the security including the Border Security Force to monitor the situation.
Sources said the focus in more to beef up the night vigil here lest any terror groups can sneak into the winter capital during darkness.
Sources said additional deployments of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force were likely to be deployed in Jammu in the coming days.
Sources a few of such companies could be brought in from neighboring Kashmir.
Sources said the intelligence grid of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is also being beefed up in some of the specific areas of Jammu district while deployment of police in civvies has also been strengthened.
