Bihar assembly polls: Mehbooba, Omar not on same page to congratulate NDA
11/12/2020 12:33:54 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 11: Despite presenting ‘united face’ to take on BJP on the issue of restoring Article 370 and 35-A, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and her arch rival-Omar Abdullah, are not on the same page as far the outcome of Bihar assembly elections is concerned.
After exit polls, Mehbooba Mufti was hoping that Tajeshwi Yadav would dislodge BJP so she was repeatedly using social media to taunt BJP. She was hoping that Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) led Tajeshwi Yadav would snatch power from NDA in Bihar and BJP would be badly demoralized but all her hopes were shattered on Tuesday evening when NDA retained power in Bihar-although with wafer-thin majority.
“Congratulations @yadavtejashwi for setting the agenda on real issues in Bihar polls as opposed to divisive politics. Despite being a one man army you put up a tough fight. Im sure you’ve made Laloo ji proud & there will be victories ahead inshallah”, Mehbooba Mufti. Instead of congratulating NDA for retaining power in tough fight elections, Mehbooba praised only RJD.
As far as Omar Abdullah is concerned, he showed maturity and Congratulated NDA for retaining power in Bihar.
“Turned out it wasn’t such a bad week after all. That’s the way the cookie crumbles. To the victor belong the spoils. Well done BJP & NDA. Good luck for the next five years @NitishKumarji.” Omar tweeted.
Although Omar Abdullah congratulated Tejashwi Yadav on his birthday on November 9 and wished him good luck for poll results, he showed maturity after declaration of the result.
“Happy birthday @yadavtejashwi and many happy returns of the day. Here’s hoping the people of Bihar give you a reason for a double celebration tomorrow. All the best”, Omar tweeted.
