SRINAGAR, Dec 20: As 475 more Corona Virus patients were discharged from different hospitals today the recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 95.18 percent. With 257 new cases the total number of positive cases reached 1, 18,263 and the death toll reached 1,841 following four fresh deaths.
Jammu district in the Jammu division reported 98 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 36 cases, Baramulla district 22 cases, Ganderbal district 15 cases, Kathua district 13 cases, Shopian and Rajouri districts 11 cases each, Budgam district 10 cases, Bandipora and Samba districts eight cases each, Kupwara and Udhampur districts seven cases each, Pulwama and Kishtwar districts three cases each, Doda district two cases and Anantnag, Poonch & Ramban districts one case each.
Udhampur district in Jammu division reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Jammu and Srinagar districts. So far 1,166 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 675 people have lost their lives to the virus up to this date.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 257 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 144 from Jammu division and 113 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 18,263. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 475 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 246 from Jammu division and 229 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 18,263 positive cases, 3,854 are active positive, 1, 12,568 have recovered and 1,841 have died; 675 in Jammu division and 1,166 in Kashmir division.
Out of 35, 28,248 test results available, 34, 09,985 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 47,084 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,989 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,854 in isolation and 26,581 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 93,819 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,716 positive cases, 759 active positive, 23,515 recovered, 442 deaths; Baramulla has 7,843 positive cases, 181 active Positive, 7,492 recovered, 170 deaths; Budgam has 7,422 positive cases, 209 active positive, 7,107 recovered, 106 deaths; Kupwara has 5,440 positive cases, 160 active positive, 5,192 recovered, 88 deaths; Pulwama has 5,410 positive cases, 199 active positive, 5,123 recovered, 88 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,740 positive cases, 150 active Positive, 4,508 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,610 positive cases, 104 active positive, 4,448 recovered, 58 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,422 positive cases, 137 active positive, 4,243 recovered, 42 deaths; Kulgam has 2,638 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,523 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,457 positive cases, 83 active positive, 2,337 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 22,855 positive cases, 807 active positive, 21,705 recovered, 343 deaths; Udhampur has 4,015 positive cases, 152 active positive, 3,806 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,775 positive cases, 234 active positive, 3,487 recovered, 54 deaths; Doda has 3,340 positive cases, 95 active positive, 3,185 recovered, 60 deaths; Kathua has 3,105 positive cases, 93 active positive, 2,964 recovered, 48 deaths.
“Kishtwar has 2,704 positive cases, 87 active positive, 2596 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,679 positive cases, 214 active positive, 2,429 recovered, 36 deaths; Poonch has 2,431 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,385 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,072 positive cases, 48 active positive, 2,003 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,589 positive cases, 56 active positive, 1520 recovered, 13 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 18,263 positive cases, 11,098 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
