SRINAGAR, Dec 29: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 95.87 percent as 299 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. So far 1, 15,560 virus affected patients out of 1, 20,527 patients have recovered so far.
The union territory reported 234 fresh cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 20,527. The death toll due to the virus reached 1879 as four patients died in the past 24 hours or so.
Srinagar district reported 69 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 65 cases, Pulwama district 21 cases, Budgam district 15 cases, Kathua district 11 cases, Ramban district seven cases, Baramulla six cases, Anantnag, Udhampur and Rajouri districts five cases each, Kupwara and Shopian districts four cases each, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Doda, Samba and Poonch districts three cases each and Kulgam & Reasi districts one case each.
Srinagar district in the Kashmir valley reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Doda and Reasi districts in the Jammu division. So far 1,185 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 694.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 234 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 103 from Jammu division and 131 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 20,527. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 299 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 159 from Jammu division and 140 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 20,527 positive cases, 3,088 are active positive, 1, 15,560 have recovered and 1,879 have died; 694 in Jammu division and 1,185 in Kashmir division.
Out of 37, 68,849 test results available, 36, 48,332 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 75,756 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,018 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,088 in isolation and 30,071 in home surveillance. Besides, 8, 25,700 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 25,216 positive cases, 554 active positive, 24,213 recovered, 449 deaths; Baramulla has 7,931 positive cases, 124 active positive, 7,635 recovered, 172 deaths; Budgam has 7,582 positive cases, 166 active positive, 7308 recovered, 108 deaths; Pulwama has 5,531 positive cases, 180 active positive, 5,263 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,517 positive cases, 132 active positive, 5,294 recovered, 91 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,774 positive cases, 100 active positive, 4,591 recovered, 83 deaths; Bandipora has 4,640 positive cases, 54 active positive, 4526 recovered, 60 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,459 positive cases, 100 active positive, 4,316 recovered, 43 deaths; Kulgam has 2,657 positive cases, 68 active positive, 2,536 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,493 positive cases, 91 active positive, 2364 recovered, 38 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 23,649 positive cases, 850 active positive, 22,445 recovered, 354 deaths; Udhampur has 4,076 positive cases, 74 active positive, 3,945 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,832 positive cases, 187 active positive, 3,591 recovered, 54 deaths; Doda has 3,380 positive cases, 57 active positive, 3,260 recovered, 63 deaths; Kathua has 3,182 positive cases, 65 active positive, 3,069 recovered, 48 deaths.
“Samba has 2,725 positive cases, 153 active positive, 2,534 recovered, 38 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,717 positive cases, 21 active positive, 2,675 recovered, 21 deaths; Poonch has 2,442 positive cases, 26 active positive, 2,393 recovered, 23 deaths; Ramban has 2,101 positive cases, 37 active positive, 2,043 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,623 positive cases, 49 active positive, 1,559 recovered, 15 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 20,527 positive cases in J&K, 11,261 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
