Army to install 100-ft high national flag in Gulmarg soon: Official 2/7/2021 11:12:22 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 7: The Indian Army is planning to install a 100-foot-high national flag in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir in the near future. The foundation stone for the flag, which will be the highest Tricolour in the Valley, was laid today. While speaking to media, an Army official confirmed that the Indian Army in collaboration with the Solar Industry India will install the ‘Iconic National Flag’ at Gulmarg which would be 100-foot high. He further confirmed that the foundation stone for the flag was laid today at a famous ski-resort in Gulmarg by agger Division General Officer Commanding (GoC) Major General Virendra Vats. The official said it will be the highest Indian national flag in the Kashmir valley flying at an altitude of approximately 9,000 feet. A replica of the flag was presented by Ramit Arora of Solar Industry India to the GOC 19 Infantry Division to mark the occasion. Nearly 100 Kashmiri youths, who travelled to Pakistan on valid visas for short durations, have either not come back or have disappeared after their return in last three years, raising an alarm within security agencies which fear that they could be possible sleeper cells of terror groups operating from across the border. Alarm bells rang in April last year when a group of five terrorists were killed in jungles of the border area of Handwara in North Kashmir. One of them was a local who went to Pakistan in 2018 and had not returned since, various officials from security agencies said. Between April one to six of last year, youths hailing from Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts of South Kashmir were seen as part of the infiltrating groups of terrorists and all of them had travelled to Pakistan on valid documents and never returned thereafter, they said.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
