American Oncology Institute, ASCOMS Hospital celebrates World Cancer Day

Jammu, Feb 7: On the occasion of World Cancer Day American Oncology Institute at ASCOMS Hospital, Jammu celebrated the day by felicitating the cancer patients and survivors and also by holding a cancer awareness campaign. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director-Principal, ASCOMS Hospital said that “Cancer is just a word, and not a sentence. One can be a victim or a survivor of Cancer, it is just a mindset. Don’t count the days, but make the days count. Cancer can be treated if you follow the advice of your doctor.”
A photo selfie-frame was also put up with the theme of World Cancer Day 2021, “I Am and I Will”. The management of American Oncology Institute also announced that in their endeavour to fight against Cancer, AOI Jammu has announced that till 31st March 2021, all OPD consultations will be done at a discounted rate of 50% along with 15% Discount on all Radiation Oncology packages and the PET-CTs will be done at a flat discounted rate of Rs. 13,000 only. Dr. Neeraj Bishnoi, Regional Director - North, American Oncology Institute said, “It is constant endeavor of AOI that the cancer care provided at all its units is not only world class, but also done at affordable charges, so that we are able to provide a healing touch to lives of all cancer patients.”
A lecture on Cancer awareness, prevention and treatments was also held at Govt. B.Ed College, Canal Road, Jammu by Dr. Nadeem Shoket, Consultant Medical Oncologist, American Oncology Institute which was attended by the students and faculty of the college. Dr. Nadeem Shoket said that on the World Cancer Day it is imperative that we all take a pledge that the we all will be together in this fight against Cancer and early detection and timely treatment by a specialist doctor are the key to win this battle against Cancer. He also informed the students about the various cancers, their symptoms and the latest advances in Cancer treatments.
