601 violators fined, 49 FIRs registered, 115 arrested: Police | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 6: Since the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police has enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. Slew of measures including restrictions u/s 144 have been put into place to contain the spread of Covid-19. According to statement that in view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, Police also enhanced the efforts to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly throughout the valley. During last 24hrs, Police has arrested 115 persons, lodged 49 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹103,370/- from 601 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley. Besides, 06 vehicles were also seized in Budgam for violating Covid-19 norms. The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic, said a police handout. It further said that, community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/guidelines/protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall remain continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures. However it is also learnt that many shopkeepers in north Kashmir villages have been found violating the SoPs that have been already laid down by the concerned district magistrates The nakas have been put in place at various junctions to avoid the traffic to ply freely on different routes, only those people and vehicles are allowed to move on who are having curfew passes, the police official told ET. |
