| DFO Samba claims no encroachment by Stone crusher owner | | |

Jammu, June 12: In response to a news item carried by Early Times, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Samba claimed that the Stone Crusher owner has not encroached upon any forest land in Purmandal block.
As per journalistic ethics, Early Times had called the DFO three times on his phone number to get his reply but he had not picked up his phone due to which his opinion was not carried out by the newspapers, over the allegations of the encroachments.
As the office has sent the clarification so the Early Times is carrying the clarification, which reads, “....Forest Department has not allowed the installation of the Stone crusher inside the forest land (Early Times had not claimed in its report)....... the installation of Stone Crusher has been allowed by the Director Geology and Mining Department J&K Government Jammu & Kashmir in private land bearing Khasra No. 299 measuring 09 K and 04 M at village Sadhral after obtaining the requisite No Objection Certificates from State Pollution Control Board, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Superintendent Engineer Power Grid Station Kathua and General Manager District Industries Samba.
As far as the Forest Department is concerned, all punitive and preventive measures have been adopted to avert any such incidence of mining in the forest land, the DFO said, adding,.
“It is not out of place to mention that the owner of the said Stone crusher has also filed a contempt in the High Court of Jammu against Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu, Conservator of Forest East Circle Jammu, Divisional Forest Officer Samba, Range Officer Purmandal, Deputy Commissioner Samba, and JK Pollution Control Board Jammu to restrain from operating the Stone Crusher in private land”. |
