| Rajouri: Influential make ‘quick bucks’ on pretext of carrying out repairs | | Will get it investigated, says ADC | | Ajay Sharma

Rajouri, Sept 26: Some powerful people at Nala Panchayat of Block Sunderbani in this frontier district are allegedly devouring government funds through illegal means.
According to the details available with Early Times, these influential people are getting funds sanctioned and released at the pretext of repairing lanes, drains and other new works under the MGNREGA scheme. “These works remain confined to papers only and are not executed on the ground,” sources alleged.
They alleged, “In case a work is sanctioned for Rs one lakh, the same is shown fully completed and final payment released when the same is hardly completed up to 40 percent.” “Officials who insist for inspection are influenced and are compelled to give completion certificates to get the payments released. In one of the cases a team of the Anti Corruption Bureau during checking found that the works executed were not recorded in the measurement books,” sources claimed.
Meanwhile, ADC Sunderbani Vinod Kumar said that the matter has been brought into his notice and he would get it investigated soon. |
