DDC Chairman Rajouri holds public grievance redress camp at Koteranka

RAJOURI, Sept 28: As part of the endeavour of District Development Council Rajouri to reach out to the common masses and to resolve their grievances at their doorsteps, DDC Chairman, Naseem Liyaqat today convened a public outreach camp here at Koteranka.
ADDC, Pawan Kumar; BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhary; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; BDO Koteranka besides other concerned officers were present during the public outreach program.
The people from Koteranka and its adjoining areas thronged the grievance redressal program and apprised the Chairman about several issues and demands of their areas.
They sought augmentation of water and Power supply, better health care facilities, up-gradation of schools, repair of roads and construction of new roads and projected other related issues.
Block Development Council Chairperson Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhary informed that many road connectivity projects have been approved for the block to mitigate the sufferings of the common masses. He also told the public about several initiatives which are being taken by the Government for the wellbeing of the general public.
In his address, the Chairman said that the Council is very much concerned about the interests of the public and concrete measures are being taken to safeguard their rights and provide necessary facilities at their doorsteps.
While responding to their demands, he said that all of their issues and demands have been documented and assured that all their genuine concerns would be looked into for early redressal.
The Chairman said that several schemes and Welfare programs have been launched by the Government for the general public and urged upon them to avail their benefits.
Talking about the steps taken for the empowerment of the PRIs, he informed that the funds for the execution of the developmental works have been released to the Panchayats. He asked the PRIs to regularly monitor the developmental works being carried out in their respective jurisdictions.
He also directed them to ensure that proper quality is maintained while executing the work on the developmental projects and called for judicious utilization of the funds.
The Chairman asked the PRIs to regularly hold the Gram Sabhas to discuss local governance, development demands and formulate need-based plans by keeping in view the resources available.
He also advised the public to keep following the Covid SOPs to avert the third wave in the district.
The Chairman also directed the officers to work with a missionary zeal so that the people of the area may not be deprived of getting their genuine demands. He asked the officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
The Chairman also sought the active cooperation of the general public in the developmental process and advised them to work side by side with the Administration for the overall development of their areas.
