| GDC Sunderbani celebrates Gandhi Jayanti | | |

JAMMU, Oct 1: In commemoration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ NCC and NSS units in collaboration with the Department of Sociology of the Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani celebrated the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Nation. A cleanliness drive and poster making competition was organized on the theme “Gandhi’s Philosophy on Non-Violence and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. In the said competition, a large no. of students of college took active part. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Prof (Dr) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. During her formal speech she stressed upon the relevance of Gandhian Philosophy and said that Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed life for truth, harmony and non-violence. The entire programme was coordinated by Prof Sheraz Kousser, Prof Sham Lal and Ravi Kumar. In the poster making competition, 1st position was secured by Abhishek Sasan of B.A- 1st sem, 2nd position was bagged by Abhishek Sharma of B.A- 1st sem while 3rd position was shared by Sakshi Sharma Ist sem and Ansuja Devi from Vth sem. The competition was judged by Prof Mukesh Sharma and Prof Beant Singh. |
