| Kishtwar: Blacktopping of Seri-Balana road blot on development | | |

Kishtwar, Oct 14: Outraged at the use of alleged sub-standard material for blacktopping of Seri-Balana road in Chatroo sub division of Kishtwar district, residents are demanding stern action against the erring officials and the contractors.
According to the details available with Early Times, the whistleblower took to social media and exposed the use of sub standard material to construct the road.
The contractor who was allotted the contract for black topping of the road at the cost of approximately Rs 1.01 crore had laid the black topping on dust and it has started wearing off.
The whistleblower said that despite repeated requests to the concerned officials nobody paid any attention towards their pleas.
He said that with the onset of winter and possible rainfall in future, the black topped surface without any doubt would vanish and potholes will reappear once again.
It is pertinent to mention that several videos have surfaced on social media wherein people have alleged the use of substandard material for black topping in their respective areas. |
