NHPC celebrates 47th foundation day

JAMMU, Nov 7: The 47th Foundation Day of NHPC was celebrated with enthusiasm by the Regional Office, Jammu today at the office premises, Narwal.
In his address on the occasion, Rajan Kumar, Executive Director, Regional Office, Jammu said that NHPC started its journey with 3 half-completed projects in 1975 and today it is generating more than 7071 MW of power.
NHPC has become a leading and trusted corporation in the field of power especially hydro power and has made a remarkable identity in the country and abroad with her style of work. NHPC has established its presence in 15 projects with 9130 MW in Jammu and Kashmir. In which we are injecting about 12500 million units into the national grid from 06 power stations with a capacity of 2250 MW. Our joint venture Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited is also engaged day and night in completing projects like Pakal Dul, Kiru and Kwar. We are contributing to the development of the nation by generating electricity.
On this occasion, various sports competitions were organized in the office premises under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in which ladies and children of the NHPC family participated enthusiastically under the leadership of Rajni.
On this occasion, a towing competition was also organized between the employees, contract workers and security personnel. The employees who helped the needy during the time of Covid-19 pandemic were felicitated by presenting them with a citation.
On this occasion certificates were also given to the winners of competitions organized during Vigilance Awareness Week.
On the occasion of Foundation Day, all the personnel took a vow to work together in building a developed nation through NHPC with one voice.
