Ensure 100% execution of projects under District Capex Plan: Mahan Singh to PRI representatives
11/15/2021 11:30:08 PM
Early Times Report

KATHUA, Nov 15: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, Col (Retired) Mahan Singh while reiterating that the development of border areas stands flagged as a top priority by the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked PRI representatives to ensure 100 percent execution of projects under District Capex Plan. Singh said this during a ‘public grievances redressal sammelan’ at Dinga Amb DDC constituency here today. Singh in continuation of his endeavour aiming to strengthen democracy by taking government and governance to door steps of the people, has been resolving the problems of the people by organizing such sammelans regularly within the jurisdiction of his constituency especially in the border and far flung areas of Kathua.
The PRI representatives raised issues including poor road connectivity in Dinga Amb tehsil, acute shortage of drinking water, erratic voltage supply, up-gradation of Dinga Amb High School to High Secondary School level, non-availability of health care centres and services besides shortage of staff in various departments. Some members also raised issue of discrimination in implementing central government schemes.
Singh said that development of rural and border areas is the priority of the Modi government and the picture of rural areas has dramatically changed during the last seven years. Yet much more needs to be done, he said. The DDC chairman said that the Modi government has strengthened democracy in Jammu and Kashmir as the real power now lies in the hands of the people today after fully implementing Panchayati Raj in the state.
