GDC Jindrah holds 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' rally

JAMMU, Nov 17: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah held a rally in Jindrah village to make locals aware of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme of Govt of India under the banner of "Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav"
Dr Sunil Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah supervised the whole rally and Dr Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team compiled and reported the rally.
Prof Rajshree Dhar, Principal, GDC Jindrah applauded the efforts of the NSS team and volunteers.
The NSS volunteers along with staff initiated the rally from the college premises. The rally was headed further in and around the surroundings of village Jindrah and passed across the public places of the Jindrah village like Ward Nos 1, 2 and 3, Bank, PHC, market area etc.
The NSS volunteers made locals of the area aware about 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', a center sponsored scheme for the girl child only. The scheme aimed at prevention of gender biased sex selective elimination to ensure survival & protection of the girl child. The scheme further ensures education and participation of the girl child in the mainstream. The villagers very attentively listened to the volunteers and convinced to educate the girl child. The villagers also inquired about the various benefits associated with the scheme and cleared their doubts in this regard.
