Secularism core of NC's political philosophy: Ratan Lal Gupta, Ajay Sadhotra
11/17/2021 11:06:41 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 17: Describing secularism as core of the political philosophy of National Conference, Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta and former minister and senior leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said the party has withstood the vicissitudes of history during most testing times.
Felicitating Ragbir Singh Manhas on his nomination as District President NC Jammu Rural, Gupta called for strengthening the glorious ethos of Jammu & Kashmir and stressed the need for a united front against divisive forces, saying unity in diversity has been strong characteristic of the state, which is to be nurtured by foiling the machinations of elements inimical to brotherhood and peace.
Gupta referred to revolutionary steps taken under the stewardship of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in realizing the vision of empowering the people politically, economically and educationally. He said the National Conference reflects the genuine urges and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Sadhotra recalled the huge role played by the National Conference by putting its best to steer the state out of morass and led it to peace, progress and development. This could be possible only because of the visionary role of the leadership and unflinching support of the people, irrespective of caste, region and religion, he added. He said that Jammu & Kashmir has suffered immensely during the recent years and all eyes were now upon the National Conference to correct the wrongs committed in governance.
Sadhotra recalled the role of National Conference in political empowerment of the people and socio-economic transformation of Jammu & Kashmir, saying the initiatives taken in strengthening democracy and forging the bonds of amity between various sections of the people by the towering leaders has ensured peoples participation in decision making.
