| Contractor changes road alignment to earn easy money | | DC directs Exen to submit factual report | | Early Times Report
Poonch, June 16: An influential contractor has allegedly changed the alignment of a road from Shamshan Ghat road to Bheinch to earn easy money.
According to the details available with Early Times the work was allotted to the contractor under number e-NIT No. 02/2021-22 dated 12-04-2022.
Vishal Bali, Bal Krishan Bali and Nohesh Chandar, local residents said that the road is already available on ground and now the influential contractor, who is hand in glove with some unknown officials of PWD (R&B) Department has diverted and changed the alignment of the road for his own interest.
They said that the contractor has ignored the main side of the road which is Shamshan Ghat.
The residents said that they have put the matter before Deputy Commissioner Poonch and have demanded a probe.
The Deputy Commissioner, according to the residents, has directed the Executive Engineer of the PWD (R&B) department to examine the issue and submit a factual report at earliest.
Locals have appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene and take strict action. |
