Early Times Report

Jammu, July 10: Kathua Police and Mining Department Kathua are continuously making efforts to stop illegal mining. In this sequence, six tractor trolleys have claimed to be caught doing illegal mining in Ravi River. This claim has not been made by one department but by both the departments in the Official social media platform. On the one hand, it has been clarified in the release issued by the District Mining Department that District Mining Officer Rajendra Singh has in a way cracked down on illegal mining at various locations. According to the Press release, the team seized six trolleys in the early hours of Saturday and which were indulged in illegal mining from the Ravi river. The department is claiming that the trolleys were later handed over to the Bhagthali police naka of Kathua Police. The press release has been issued by the information department official on the social media platform whatsapp on Saturday evening at 4:47 pm.
On the other hand, at 5:21 pm, a release is also issued by the district police on the Kathua Police whatsapp social media platform.
In which it is claimed that the police have seized 6 tractor trolleys illegally carrying mining material from the jurisdiction of Kathua police station area. The police team has claimed that this material was being illegally transported Due to which the police team seized it and later the case was handed over to the District Mining Officer for legal action. Now the question is why both the mining and police departments are taking credit for the same action ? Is there a lack of coordination between the two departments or is there an intention to garner applause in front of their high officials behind this.
Meanwhile, locals have hailed SSP Kathua, Ramesh Chander Kotwal, for doing a commendable job by acting tough against the criminals. They appreciated him for foiling bovine smuggling bids by taking stern measures to prevent bovine smugglers from dodging the police. In the recent past more than 30 bovines have been rescued by the police in Kathua district and the truck drivers have been arrested. They also hailed his efforts for preventing illegal mining in the district.
