Lal Bazar shootout: Cyber experts to probe terror outfit’s video
7/15/2022 11:27:03 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, July 15: A team of highly skilled cyber experts working in the national capital will probe the video, which the interntaional terror outfit “Islamic State” claims to have filmed and released of the attack on the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel in Lal Bazar locality here on July 12.
Sources said the central government has asked a team of cyber experts to probe in coordination with the JKP the claims about the video that if it was shot by the terrorists associated with the international terror outfit.
Sources said the “special task” for the cyber experts, who are working in coordination with the local Police, is to see how the video had managed to reach the Amaq News Agency, which releases news items linked to the terror group.
Sources said “The data traffic on the servers and gateways was being scrutinized to see from the where the video may have originated in Kashmir and how it made claims of the international terror angle.”
It’s for the second time in the last seven odd months that video footage of the attack on the police in Srinagar has come to fore on the social media and both are being claimed to have shot by the terror outfit “Islamic State.”
In December 2021, the terrorists militants who shot at a traffic cop in Srinagar had reportedly filmed the attack in video footage adding to the concerns if the interntaional terror outfit IS was linked to the incident. That time also, as per the sources, the police was probing the international terror angle to the attack.
A senior official privy to the investigations said both the videos, which is of the recent attack and the one which took place some seven months ago had a “correlation.”
“Both the videos seem to have been shot in the same pattern,” said a security analyst.
An Assistant Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed and two of his subordinates were wounded in the attack in Lal Bazar locality near the GD Goenka school on the third day of Eid Ul Azha.
