Principal Secretary chairs KVIC’s UT level Monitoring Committee meet on PMEGP implementation in JK

JAMMU, Dec 2: Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Jammu unit, convened a Union Territory level Monitoring Committee meeting regarding implementation of PMEGP scheme under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Prashant Goyal.
The meeting was attended by S P Khandelwal, State Director KVIC while Pawan Kumar, DGM SBI, Farrukh Qazi, CEO/Secretary KVIB, Rajesh Dubey, DGM J&K Bank, Suresh Chander Sharma, GM J&K Grameen Bank, G P Praveen, AGM NABARD, Rifat Kamar, District Manager, JKWDC, Kuldeep Koul, Area Manager Ellaquai Dehati Bank, Balbir Kumar, Chief Manager PNB, Sanwal Dogra, Branch Head SIDBI, Ghulam Qadir Khatana, GM J&K SC/ST and OBC Development Corporation, Anil Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director and Nodal Officer PMEGP, KVIC and Saloni Rai, Director Industries and Commerce Kashmir participated online.
Khandelwal informed that KVIC, DIC and KVIB have established the highest number of manufacturing and service units in J&K in the year 2021-22. He apprised that about 21,640 units have been established under flagship scheme PMEGP during this period thus creating the highest number of employment i.e. 1.73 lakh in comparison to all other states and UTs in India. These units have been established with a total capital of Rs. 2101 crore and a total margin money of Rs. 467 crore has been disbursed which is the highest among all other states and UTs. Principal Secretary applauded the KVIC, DIC and KVIB for their achievements towards Industrial growth and employment boom in Jammu and Kashmir in 2021-22. He informed that the Union Ministry of MSME has launched an initiative of distributing PMEGP awards to promote and award innovation and excellence of successful entrepreneurs of the scheme. In this regard, nominations have been invited online from successful entrepreneurs. Principal Secretary directed the implementing agencies for motivating PMEGP entrepreneurs for maximum nominations for the said award.
