Vikar pays no heed to Rahul’s speech, talks on mobile; picture goes viral
Congress high command annoyed
12/30/2023 11:28:13 AM

Jammu, Dec 29: The Congress high command has taken very serious note of the action of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Vikar Rasool Wani for showing indiscipline during the launch of the second round of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Nagpur.

A picture has gone viral on social media in which Vikar Rasool Wani was seen talking on his mobile phone while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen addressing the rally to mark the launching of the second phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Highly placed sources said that some leaders forwarded this picture to the party high command so party leadership took this matter very seriously.

Talking on a mobile phone while Rahul Gandhi was addressing the rally was considered an action of indiscipline so the party is annoyed with this action.

On Thursday Congress kickstarted its second phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra with a rally called “Hain Tayyar Hum (We are ready)”, in Nagpur on the occasion of its 139th foundation day.

Nagpur houses the RSS headquarters and also Deekshabhoomi, the place where B R Ambedkar embraced Buddhism. There is also the Congress’s own relationship with the city, going back to before India’s Independence.

Shubhangi Khapre and Vallabh Ozarkar write that it was at the Congress’s Nagpur Session held in December 1920 that the party under Mahatma Gandhi’s leadership gave a clarion call for the launch of the non-cooperation movement against the British.

At the Congress’s another session held in Nagpur in 1959, Indira Gandhi was elected as the AICC chief.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi addressed the rally.

After the emergency, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi held a public meeting in Nagpur, and the Congress then won all the seats from Vidarbha. Congress said that History will repeat in Nagpur and a big Parivartan (change) will take place in the country.
