Does Sagar now question finality of state's accession to India?
10/11/2012 12:52:33 AM
early times report Jammu, Oct 10: Following the footsteps of independent MLA, Engineer Rashid, senior NC leader and state law and rural development minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar has joined the chorus by saying that Kashmir is a dispute accepted by both India and Pakistan. Strange, such a statement should come from somebody who holds the law and rural development portfolio in the state cabinet and somebody who is a senior member of the ruling NC. The minister has sworn allegiance to the constitution of the country and the constitution of the state according to both of which the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The NC's founder late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah after his return to mainstream politics in 1975 declared the finality of the state's accession to India. For political reasons the politicians of the state have of late been touching highly sensitive issues which concern the integrity and sovereignty of India. These are something on which there can be no compromise or revisiting. It only helps strengthen the separatist forces in the state when a sitting le...

But resentment in leaders 'uninvited' in Jammu meeting
10/11/2012 12:51:28 AM
early times report Jammu, Oct 10: Even as the JKPCC leadership boasted and blew his trumpet on 'consensus' having reached out at all levels within the party over the issue of strategy to be adopted for ensuing BDC polls, resentment and anger has been expressed from some quarters in not inviting or choosing deliberately absence of some important leaders in the meeting held in Jammu on Tuesday. Irked over poor network coverage, BSNL subscribers feel service is not worth money they pay against monthly bills
10/11/2012 12:50:02 AM
BHARAT BHUSHAN JAMMU, Oct 10: BSNL subscribers in J&K are definitely not a happy lot as the network coverage of India's largest communication service provider (CSP) continues to be as bad as it has always been across the state even as it has a vast network of mobile phone towers and an army of staff to deal with the issue. "The subscriber is not reachable" is the response one often gets while calling a customer of any CSP from a BSNL number here. "BSNL network has become totally unreliable," said Vijay Kumar Gupta, a sales executive with a company. "Whenever, I go to the Jammu's remote areas, or even the villages which are not far from the city in connection with my work, I face network...
