SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged-off the Tiranga Yatra from Dal Lake in Srinagar and joined the walkathon from Dal Lake to Botanical Garden.
“Tiranga is my Dharma. Tiranga is my strength. Tiranga is my heartbeat,” said the Lieutenant Governor.
He also observed that it would be a blessing to be born again to serve the country.
For the sake of duty, may we again and again take birth on this holy land, the Lieutenant Governor said.
He paid tributes to the forefathers and brave hearts who laid down their lives to keep the tricolour flying high in its full glory.

Jammu, Aug 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has collected blood and hair samples from two brothers, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad Jothar, arrested in connection with the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, to determine whether they played a larger role than merely providing shelter to the assailants. The samples were taken from Amphalla Jail in Jammu, where the two are currently lodged. Sources said the DNA profiles will be matched with clothes, weapons, and other articles recovered from the three Pakistani terrorists — Suleiman Shah, Hamza Afghani alias Afghan, and Jibran — who carried out the massacre.

Srinagar, Aug 12: An army soldier died after slipping down a slope during a routine patrol near the Line of Control in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Tuesday.
Sepoy B Anil of Maratha Light Infantry, while patrolling a border post, slipped and died on the spot on Monday, the officials said.
