Is PDP-BJP 'marriage' heading for a divorce?

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: Launching an attack on its coalition partner, the PDP has accused the BJP of going against the Agenda of Alliance (AoA). Such an accusation has put the fate of coalition in the state at the crossroads once again, leaving people in a fix over whether the government would survive.
One of the senior most voices and the PDP vice-president Sartaj Madni recently issued a statement that has caused jittery among the political circles.
At a time when the government of India agreed to free the dreaded separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani from house detention and also approved the amnesty policy for the stone pelters in Kashmir Valley, Madni accused the BJP of undermining the AoA which the two parties signed after three months long confabulations post the fractured mandate of 2014 polls.
Warning that delay in resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan has the potential of undermining the AoA, the PDP on Friday said the AoA is a commitment to the people to resolve the Kashmir problem through "reconciliation and dialogue".
"The AoA, which became instrumental for forming the coalition government in Jammu & Kashmir between PDP and BJP, is a commitment to the people of the state on resolution of Kashmir problem through reconciliation and dialogue," Madni said.
He said delay in resumption of sustainable dialogue and revival of peace initiatives between India and Pakistan are causing worries and have the potential of undermining the AoA.
He emphasised the need to carry forward the initiatives that are necessary for fulfilling the promises made in the alliance document in the interest of peace in the region and bringing an end to the miseries of the people of the state.
Meanwhile, the speculations are rife that the BJP is much annoyed with such a statement that too at a time when the government was treading in a "right direction".
There are also speculations that the confrontation of such nature has put the collation at a brink of breakdown with both parties involved in allegations and counter allegations. "When the senior most voice of the PDP is saying nothing has been done, we really wonder what does the PDP want. There have been stone pelters released, daily wagers regularised, interlocutor appointed, separatists freed. Is there anything more which was written in AoA? We don t think we can move ahead with such a mindset in which troubles are invented and allegations levelled without any ground," says a BJP leader, adding that there are already discussions over the issue going on and very soon it will be raised with the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Meanwhile, there are reports that even inside the PDP circles, there were objections raised to such a statement issued by Madni in which he had accused the coalition partner of undermining the AoA.
After denial the CBI probe in Asifa Bano murder case by Mehbooba Mufti government and ditched by BJP Ministers and BJP party women of Hiranagar on Saturday launched an indefinite hunger strike demanding CBI probe in Asifa Bano Murder case
Villagers of Hiranagar including 4 women have started fasting unto death on Saturday under the banner of Hindu Exta Manch while local people of adjoining village of Hiranagar also extend the support and raised slogan against the state government over denial the demanding of CBI probe into the Asifa Bano Murder case.
While taking to media the women clarified that until the demand is not met, they are not going to bow down in front of this government. The women who have started the fast unto death were Trishla Devi, wife of Ashok Kuma, resident of Rasana village of Hiranagar, Darshna Devi, wife Updesh Kumar, resident of village Dhamyal Hiranagar , Sushma Devi, wife of Surinder Verma, resident of Satura village of Hiranagar, and Anjana Sharma, wife of Shishipaul, resident of Rassana village of Hiranagar.
