Coalition partners race to stake claim over incomplete projects
JKCCC conducts trial run on incomplete ropeway

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 28: The ruling PDP and its alliance partner BJP appear in a hurry to stake claims over development projects. In this bid, a junior minister initiated the trial run of prestigious Jammu Ropeway Project, which however is still incomplete.
After facing severe criticism from Jammu region for alleged neglect on part of coalition partners, now they have been trying to stake their claim over even petty works such as inauguration of toilet complexes, raising their nameplates for macdamazation of roads, which is routine exercise of the department concerned. But it seems these ministers have only these projects to count as their achievements.
In a new turn, the Minister of State for Tourism initiated the trial run of prestigious ropeway project from Bahu to Mahamaya temple. But everyone is aware of the fact that the ropeway project is from Mubarak Mandi to Bahu to Mahamaya and Mahamaya to again Mubarak Mandi.
"This little acceleration towards the completion of prestigious ropeway project is only possible after Public Interest Litigations were filed by citizens of Jammu on which the J&K High Court had taken strong notice", sources said. They said it was only after the PILs and repeated directions from High Court that some work has been done on the project, otherwise it would have missed many deadlines.
Already the Jammu Ropeway Project has missed numerous deadlines, and the latest deadline was in March 2018, which was once again missed by Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC).
"On Friday, the MoS Tourism initiated the trial run and while speaking to the media she claimed that the state government has kept its commitment with the people of the state by initiating the trial run of this prestigious project. But she forgot that the commitments were never kept by coalition partners, and if the coalition partners were thinking about the commitments, then the project would have been completed years back", an official said.
The official further said that even on Friday, only two coaches were put on trial in the initial stage and the officials informed the minister that the 12 coaches will start running on the first stretch in the middle of the year, which simply means that the project is still incomplete and it would take some more months to complete.
Then what was the necessity to initiate the trial run on incomplete project?
