early times report Jammu, Oct 2: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party chief Shamsher Singh Manhas sat on a 'satyagrah' today on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti demanding resignation of Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah in an alleged multi-crore scam for Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. Manhas, accompanied by party leaders and activists, sat on a 48-hour 'satyagrah' against alleged rampant corruption in the state. "Rampant corruption is taking place in the state and to highlight such issues, especially of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam, which involves some influential people, Manhas sat on 48-hour fast," BJP national executive member and spokesperson Jitendra Singh told reporters here. Singh said the state president's decision to focus on JKCA scam was inspired by the realisation that it involves forgery through issuance of 'benami cheques' and embezzlement of crores, carried out under the signatures and approval of top most leaders of ruling party. "Despite repeated pleas by BJP, the NC-Congress coalition government has refused to hand over the case to CBI, which further increases the element of suspicion," he added. The situation has now deteriorated to such an extent that Jammu and Kashmir was being described as the most corrupt state in the country, he said. Earlier in the morning, Manhas was taken in a procession from BJP hqrs to Dogra Chowk by hundreds of party activists including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Chander Prakash Ganga, Col.
