| Bail denied to husband, sister-in-law | | Dowry death case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 2 (JNF): Sub-Registrar Jammu Mr. Manjeet Rai rejected the bail application of Rajinder Pal Singh a army personnel husband of the deceased Ravinder Kour sister-in-law of the deceased who are allegedly involved in dowry death case. While rejecting the bail, Sub-Registrar Manjeet Rai after hearing PO Rohini Manhas for the state and advocate, Avdeesh Kumar, observed that the perusal of the police report reveals that the deceased Dalbir Kour d/o S Amreek Singh R/o Makhan Pur Chadka Tehsil Bishnah was married to Rajinder Pal Singh s/o Kehar Singh r/o Badyala Chak Tehsil Akhnoor in the 2009, out of the wed-lock, one boy was born who is 1 ½ years old. The parents of deceased gave dowry at the time of marriage according to their capacity. After some time of marriage, the deceased's s husband Rajinder Pal Singh her mother-in-law Manjeet Kour and sister-in-law Ravinder Kour started beating and torturing her physically and mentally for bringing less dowry. The demand of dowry by the accused persons increased day by day and the deceased being tortured and harassed for brining less dowry. The deceased used to complain her parents and close relatives about the demand of dowry by the accused persons. On September 14, 2012, all the accused persons had beaten the deceased for the sake of dowry and the deceased consumed some poisonous substance to end her life. Due to physical and mental torture meted out to her by the accused persons. The deceased died in the hospital on September 16, 2012. Court further observed that perusal of the police reports further reveals that a case has been registered in the P/S Akhnoor against the accused persons for commission of offence u/s 306.498-A RPC and accused No 1 came to be arrested on September 20, 2012 and accused No 2 & 3 have been arrested on September 24, 2012. Perusal of the police reports further reveals that the investigation of the case is at its infancy stage and dismissed the bail application. |
