Jammu, Oct 2: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha celebrated 146th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj Mahajan today at Lala Hans Raj Park situated at Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road with traditional enthusiasm.
The gathering commemorated the birth days of Father of Nation, Mahatama Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri which coincides with the birth anniversary of Lala Ji. A HavanYagya was performed with chanting of mantras later statues of Lala Hans raj and L.C. Gupta another social activist were garlanded by prominent persons of Mahajan Community participating in function in function.
Members of Mahajan Community present in the function on this occasion pledged to carry forward the path shown by Lala Hans Raj who was great social reformer of his times.
Speaking on the occasion President Vinod Gupta and Chander Mohan gupta, General Secretary of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha lauded the work done by the Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hans Raj as the founder of Central Mahajan Sabha, Dogra Saddar Sabha, Akhil Bharitya Shirmani Mahajan Sabha for weeding out the social evils from the then society.
"The credit of formation of Rajput Sabha, Brahman Sabha and Anjuman-Islamia also goes to Lala Hans Raj which shown betterment of mankind irrespective of caste, colour and creed, they recalled highlighting the secular personality of the late soul. They said Lala Hans Raj worked a lot in preventing child-marriage and was instrumental in setting of Ved Mandir-Ashram, Hindu window remarriage and promoting brotherhood among different among different communities.
Chief Patron of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha praised Lala Hans Raj for his patriotism and work done for the betterment of mankind irrespective of Caste colour and creed. A function was organized at Sabzi Mandi, Nahajan Sabha.
