| PK holds workshop, demands separate homeland | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 7: Panun Kashmir organized a day long workshop to deliberate upon the emerging political scenario and challenges being faced by the Kashmiri Pandit community in exile at the Invitation, Banquet Hall, and Roop Nagar. The day long programme was attended by large number of Panun Kashmir activists and prominent citizens. The workshop was divided into two sessions. In the morning session stock was taken of the organization issues and strategy was developed to devise a comprehensive strategy to reach out to every section of the society to keep the community abreast about the prevailing challenges and work on the capacity building to create support structures for enhancing the momentum for the creation of homeland in Kashmir with the union territory status. The emphasis was laid on involving the youth for the movement of comprehensive resurgence of the community by making them realise their role in this continuous struggle to reverse the genocide and religious cleansing of the community. Session was chaired by Dr.Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman ,Panun Kashmir. In the post lunch session, the focus was laid on the emerging short term and long term challenges faced by the Kashmiri Pandit community. There was a consensus that the forces acting from inside and outside are working in tandem to keep the Kashmiri Pandit community scattered so that a sense of social cohesion in the community is eroded and a blow is dealt to the movement for the resurgence of the community. Margdarshan Resolution adopted by the community in 1991 for the carving out of Homeland on the North and East of river Vitasta is the only solution for the return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits with the free flow of the Indian constitution. Chrungoo while speaking on the occasion said,"In struggle for reclamation of Homeland focus should be laid on three factors viz, ideological commitment, hope and faith in the path adopted for the resurgence as these intangible factors act as anchors for the tangible goal of Homeland." Pt.Omkar Nath Trisal, veteran freedom fighter and member advisory , Panun Kashmir said," Goal is supreme and those who dilute the ideological moorings are no longer the assets but the dangers to the struggle, thee earlier it is understood, the better.'
