National Police Day observed in Jammu region

jammu, Oct 21: As every year, National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day, Parade was observed in Jammu region's all the ten districts where impressive functions were organized by concerned District Police with large scale participation of Officers of Para-military forces and prominent Citizens along with District Police Officers/officials.
The main function was conducted at Gulshan Ground Jammu where Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone Dilbag Singh took the ceremonial salute from the Commemoration Day Parade.
All GOs of all Units of Police based to Jammu were present apart from a large number of senior retired Police Officers and prominent Citizens of Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Dilbag Singh, pay rich tributes to all those martyrs who laid down their lives for unity and integrity of the nation in different parts of the country. The names of the martyrs from all police organizations like Para-military forces BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, NSG were read out
Prominent among them were DIG Jammu/DIG AP Jammu/DIG IRP Jammu, all COs and Officers from Armed Police Units, SSP Jammu and all Officers from Jammu, Deputy Director IB Jammu and among the retired Police Officers were ADGP Madan Lal, IGPs, C L Banal, Ashok Gupta , Gulzar Singh Slathia and many others.
Earlier, rich tributes were paid by all the senior officers at Police Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head, Jammu.
Moreover, an impressive function was conducted again in the evening where a large number of Police /Civil families gathered to lit candles and to pay rich tributes to the martyrs.
A blood donation camp was also inaugurated after the Commemoration Day Parade which will continue for one week and 500 donors from Police including its all senior Officers and other volunteers shall take part.
In the ongoing donation camp IGP Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, JP Singh, DIG AP Johny Willim and SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh were among the first donors.
In a similar function, a programme to pay tribute was organised today in District Police Line (DPL) ground, Rajouri.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Rajouri-Poonch range Danesh Rana took part in this programme as chief guest.
While Superintendent of Police Mubassir Latifi carry forward the proceedings by announcing the names of the police martyrs of all the states of country. Flower garlands were also presented on the police martyrs point located in DPL.
Later, police officials also met with the families of Police Martyrs of District Rajouri and listen to the problems faced by them. The officers informed them about several schemes taken up by department to help them.
A number of senior officials of civil, police and army administration also took part in the programme.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar police during an official function at District Police Line Kishtwar paid tribute to police martyrs on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day. The official function was attended by all the senior police officers including SP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti, ASP Kishtwar Kulbir Singh, SDPO Chatroo, Marwah, Dy. SP HQ and SHO Kishtwar, beside DIG CRPF Baldev Singh and other officers of CRPF also attended the function and paid tributes to police martyrs including SPO Mohammad Hanief and SPO Bilal Ahmed who lost their lives this year during the security forces operation launched against Hizb militants involved in last year's September 7 blast outside Delhi High Court.
