| Azad makes it to Jammu region yet again His presence seen more on non political platforms....? | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 21: In less than a gap of one month, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad once again made it to Jammu region only to attend a non party function. The function, like some previous ones was not organized in proper Jammu, instead in Bishnah this time, some 12 kms from the winter capital, albeit amid a galaxy of party leaders, besides Union MOS for Parliamentary Affairs, Pawan Kumar Bansal. In other words it was a political function raised and wrapped on a non Congress, non political forum conveniently by the organizers.
One did not see such a function for the first time attended among others by the former Chief Minister in various parts of Jammu. A quick recall of the functions during the past two years vividly shows that Ghulam Nabi Azad has come specifically and attended the functions convened by non Congress organizations, perhaps more than he attended those organized by PCC leadership. In other words Azad who has been frequently visiting the State even during his tenure as Union Minister, has showed his presence in J&K more through non Congress organizations, no matter all such organizations are renowned bodies with which public and cause for communities is largely associated.
If it was a function organized specificllay by Dogra Sadar Sabha today at Bishnah, some time back it was one organsied by Global Gandhi family. Sources say he is to attend one more such function next week, most likely on Dusshera festival organized by Sanatan Dharam Sabha in Jammu.
The moot question that arises is that is Azad himself not keen to show his loud and political presence in the party functions organsied from time to time in Jammu or its other parts or he is not invited properly from right quarters for the same….? It is widely known that Azad continues to keep distance from the official PCC faction or just the reverse for apparent reasons of deep and unsettled factionalism in the State unit of Congress. Though lately a message has been reinforced, in fact as a matter of rhetoric that united face of the State unit of Congress is mandatory, yet it is now conspicuously becoming loud on the political surface that Azad prefers and appears to be interested only in making his presence conspicuous through apolitical platforms, a feature that has actually become regularity for the Union Health Minister.
However, as it is for all political stalwarts, particularly who wield influence in Delhi and have larger stakes in this State too, Azad is always seen surrounded in such functions by the local leaders who continue to be his loyalists, whether Ministers, ex-Ministers legislators or senior functionaries of the party. |
