Indira Gandhi. On the Occasion Sambyal said Indira Gandhi, was one of the best- Globally known women of the 20th century. She was a bold Lady and was a genius. She went across many ups and downs in the Political journey but always faced them boldly finally succeeding with flying colors. Sambyal, appealed to the Congress High Command and to get a new Congress office Constructed in Jammu in memory of Indira Gandhi Some of the Senior Leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Sigh, Jagdish Tytler, Gulam Nabi Azaad and others in the Congress Party who got the opportunity to work with the glorious lady of 20th Century Indira Gandhi possess great leadership qualities like Indira Gandhi and are assets for our Country. Sambyal during the occasion also mentioned the failure of the intelligence agencies in regards to the Grenade attack on the Shop in Narwal. In context to the same Sambyal appealed the local people to remain alert and help the local Police in case of any suspicious person or substance observed. Paying floral tributes to Smt. Indira Gandhi Prof. Soz described her as a dynamic leader who was always committed to the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden in the country. She launched various programmes for the upliftment of the poor and the weaker sections of the society. While referring to the ongoing elections to the four seats to the Legislative Council from the Panchayats, Prof soz said that the benefits of the democracy can only percolate to the grass root level by strengthening and fully empowering the Panchayat Raj Institutions Several senior leaders of the party also paid floral tributes to Smt.
