| Determined Khuda to assume office of CVC soon | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 19: The opposition of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) notwithstanding, former Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khuda is all set to assume office of the first ever Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) of the state. Khuda's nomination for the post suffered first setback when PDP president, Mahbooba Mufti who was in the panel constituted to make the nomination opposed him for his alleged involvement in Bhaderwah Triple Murder case. The Panel held its meeting at a time when the relatives of the victims had filed a petition in the Srinagar bench of the High Court seeking re-opening of investigation in the above mentioned case. However, the High Court decided the case in Khuda's favour thus paving way for his appointment as CVC. But, Khuda's `fortune wheel' had to clear yet another stumbling block. The aggrieved relatives approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC). The commission in its judgment said it cannot go against the High Court findings. Khuda was exonerated but had to wait for his appointment. This time the Governor returned his file but a determined Khuda managed to clear all the hurdles. A senior lawyer while commenting on the appointment said Khuda could not make it to the top post had PDP stuck to its stand. Pertinent to mention, the PDP chose to remain mum on the issue when the High Court and SHRC cleared the former DGP. The former chief of the state police has many well wishers as well. They are happy over his appointment and believe he can make a difference. Whenever the issue of appointment of Khoda on any position including the preset one comes up, observes maintained that government deliberately leaks the information to the pres with an intend to know the reaction of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This includes political parties, Human rights groups, social organizations , religious institutions and inteligencia . This tactics is both motivated and designed to ensure rehabilitation of Khoda. However Khoda can breathe easy as the Principal opposition party PDP didn't react at all when the news of Khodas appointments as CVC was make public.
