| JCC to launch fifth phase of agitation from Feb 19 | | |  Early TImes report
JAMMU, Jan 11: After the complete and successful three days' strike, the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) has decided to give last opportunity (breathing time) to Government up to February 18 and if the demands are not conceded till the deadline, the fifth phase of agitation will be launched with a complete strike throughout the state from February 19 to 23. The decision was taken in a meeting of JCC held under the leadership of Ab Qayoom Wani, Khursheed Alam, and Gafoor Dar. In the meeting, the sentiments of the employees, observance of successful strike, suggestion from the leaders were discussed threadbare. The meeting also decided that demonstration on February 19 will be held at all 22 District Headquarters of the state besides Gate Demonstrations on February 20, 21 and 22 will be held at every Government Office of the state and black flags will be waved at every Office. It was also decided that mega demonstration of state employees will be held in Jammu before Civil Secretariat and at Press Enclave in Srinagar on February 23. The Joint Consultative Committee leaders appealed the employee fraternity to implement the agitational calendar of JCC at gras sroot level in letter and spirit and also ensure their active participation in demonstration which will be the befitting reply to the elements who are always hell bent upon divide and rule policy and are playing in the hands of politicians and bureaucrats. The leaders appealed the civil society, lawyers, traders, students, people from print and electronic media and people from all walks of life to bear with them during the fight against the anti-employee and anti-people policy of the government. |
