Jammu, Jan 11: The NSS Unit of MIER College of Education celebrated National Youth Day to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. NSS volunteers of B.Ed, B.Ed Special Education and M.Ed attended the function which was chaired by Dr. Adit Gupta. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. SurinderKour, Controller of Examinations MIER, Dr. B.L. Raina, HOD M.Ed wing, Dr. Annie Koul, HOD B.Ed wing, Mr. Rajendra Praveen, HOD B.Ed Special Education along with all the faculty members. Dr. Annie Koul extended a very warm welcome to the guests and expressed her views on the youth day which has been dedicated to the women this year. Dr. Adit Gupta addressed the gathering and said that the destiny of the country is in the hands of the youth who have an important role to play. He called upon the youth to sit together and think about the changes we need to bring about in the governance of the country. Rohinika Sharma, NSS Programme Officer MIER presented a very informative presentation highlighting the messages of Swami Vivekananda to the youth of the country. |
