| Follow teachings of freedom fighters: Vikar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23 : Describing S. Bhagat Singh as one of the great icons of Indian freedom movement, who sacrificed for the country, Minister of State for Technical education, Vikar Rasool, has appealed the people to follow the teachings of such leaders for making the nation world leader. The Minister was speaking at a function organized by Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Sabha to commemorate martyrdom of the great leader at Jammu today. Paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters, Mr. Vikar said that these great men laid down their lives so that people of the country could get rid of the shackles of British rule. He stressed upon the need of following the ideals set by those visionary leaders in present era which is lurching in chaos and confusion. Mr. Vikar also highlighted the importance of youth in nation building and urged them to actively contribute in different fields of life to create a healthy and harmonious society. He said that youth’s role is of prime importance as the onus of building a strong nation lies on them. Earlier, a deputation from Gool Gulab Garh led by Mumtaz Ahmed Khan called on the Minister and projected various demands of their area which included payment of wages under MGNREGA, construction of link roads by RDD, improvement and augmentation of the power scenario etc. The Minister assured them that he would take up the issues with the concerned so that these are redressed at the earliest. |
