| Soz assures OBCs to take demands with union | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 24 : JKPCC President Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (Former Union Minister) has assured the OBCs for taking up their demands for enhancement of reservation quota in the job with coalition government. According to press release, one day convention of OBC was held here today, addressing the convention, Prof. Soz said that Congress is the voice of all sections of the society and it represents the people of all regions in the state irrespective of their faiths, religion or caste. He said, "The downtrodden sections of the society should get their due and the demands of OBC, in the state would be taken up with the Chief Minister for enhancement of their reservation quota by necessary amendment in the present rule wherever required." He said that the Congress president Smt. Sonia Gandhi and AICC Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi are keen to address the issues of various sections in the state and the issues of refugees and other downtrodden sections including OBC are high on the agenda of Congress party. Prof. Soz said that Congress alone can ensure equitable development in all the three regions and it has sizeable strength in Kashmir and Ladakh regions also, apart from Jammu region which is its strong bastion. The people realize that Congress can ensure justice to all sections and regions in the state. MP Madan Lal Sharma in his address thanked the Congress high command and PCC Chief for fulfilling the commitment made to OBCs in the Constitution of Advisory Board for them. He said that board should get adequate funds for their development in different areas in the state. He also highlighted the demands of refugees of different sections and wanted furthermost of their issues on priority. He said these sections of society are back bone of the congress party and their demands should be given due priority. Earlier, Vice Chairman OBC board Kuldip Raj Verma welcomed the President and other senior leaders and put forth various demands of the OBCs.
