| Jora, Bhalla inspect sewerage, drainage works at Kujwani, adjoining areas | | |
JAMMU: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister for Housing and Culture, Mr. Raman Bhalla today visited Apna Vihar, Shanti Nagar, Kujwani and inspected ongoing development works on deep drainage system and construction of local Nallahs in the area.
Mr. Jora called upon the people to protect public property in their respective areas, adding that these assets are meant for their convenience and need to be protected. He said Government was making all out efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people across the State. The concerned engineers of constructing agency informed the Minister that work on 231 metre length of Nalha at Shanti Nagar, Kujwani has been completed. The Minister directed the engineers of Town Drainage Department and Jammu Municipality to continue the work on construction site and complete the remaining part of the work in stipulated time frame.
Mr. Jora, along with Mr. Bhala, also visited Bandu Rakh Kujwani and inspected the drainage system in the area. Mr. Jora instructed the concerned engineers to remove the blocked in the Nallah and ensure proper maintenance of drainage system so that the people of the area may not face any inconvenience.
Later, Mr. Jora also visited Rajiv colony and reviewed the site plan of the Ambedkar Bhawan being constructed in the locality and also inspected the ongoing construction work . He was informed that Rs. 45 lakh has been already spent on the construction of Bhawan and the work is going on. He directed of the concerned Chairman of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Society to continue the work and complete it in a stipulated time frame. He also paid floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by garlanding his statue installed in the premises of the Bhawan.
Later, Mr. Jora also inspected Recreation Park on National Highway Sarore, Baribrahamina.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipality, Mr. Kuldeep Kumar Khajuria, Director Local Bodies, Mr. Arun Sharma, Engineers of UEED and Jammu Municipality were accompanied the Ministers. |
