| PC Vice Chairman conducts extensive tour of Budgam | | | Srinagar: Peoples’ Conference Vice Chairman, Muhmammad Kamaal Malik conducted extensive tours of Budgam district and met with PC workers and public delegations which raised pressing issues faced by the public. Malik visited Nasrullapura, Gutpora, Wadhwan, Dharwan, Chodbugh, Soibugh and Beerwa and met with workers and the general public to ascertain their problems. The PC workers apprised Malik of the issues of the District and also emphasized on the utter failure of the incumbent government to alleviate the problems of the people of Budgam. Malik demanded the immediate completion and restoration of the Soibugh Filtration Plant. Because of the state of the filtration plant, work on which has been ignored, numerous areas are without clean drinking water. Don’t people of Kashmir, if not anything, deserve clean drinking water? What are the incumbent MLAs and Ministers doing? Malik said that the successive NC and PDP governments have shown utter disregard to the people of Budgam and have taken them for granted. The people of Budgam, Mr. Malik said, are fed-up of exploitation, maladministration and mis-governance. The district is submerged in poverty and all possibilities of economic activity stand affected due to poor roads and inadequate public infrastructure. Muhammad Kamaal Malik also demanded the macadamization of the Wadhwan – Narbal road. The pitiful state of the Wadhwan-Narbal road is tragic and people who have to commute on this road face enormous difficulties every passing day. PC has been demanding the macadamization of the Wadhwan-Narbal road for a while now and it seems that the State government is hell-bent on persecuting the people of Budgam. PC workers and public delegations also apprised Malik of the atrocious state of electricity and power supply in Nasrullahpura, Gutpora, Wadhwan, Dharwan, Chadbugh, Soibugh and Beerwa. Malik assued the public that PC would continue to highlight these issues and demand the redress of these grievances. Malik has demanded the immediate restoration of faulty transformers and power-lines in these areas and has expressed anguish and concern over the lack of even basic power supply in Budgam. Malik added that Peoples’ Conference is emerging as a force to reckon with in Budgam District and the party would leave no stone unturned to right the wrongs committed against Budgam by both PDP and NC. |
