| Sagar inaugurates Panchayat Ghar at Zarwan Budgam | | | SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that government is committed for strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions and every step is being taken for empowering Panchs and Sarpanchs in the process of implementation of various developmental and welfare schemes in the state. The Minister was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating Panchayat Ghar constructed by Rural Development Department at Zarwan in Budgam district here today. Mr. Sagar said that among other vital sectors, tourism was given fillip during the four years of coalition government, resulting in improvement of socio-economic status of people. He said Rs. 20 lakh were spent on the construction of Panchayat Ghar comprising of 7 rooms, one conference hall, office for Sarpanch and other required facilities. He said that Zarwan village of Budgam is being developed as Model Village and shall be facilitated with all possible amenities for the people of the village. MLA Budgam, Syed Aga Ruhullah also addressed the function. District Development Commissioner, Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Shah and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion. |
