SRINAGAR : Hassle free transport facilities besides better road connectivity shall be made available to the people of Srinagar city adding that efforts have already been put in place for which results are eminent on the ground. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah while convening a meeting of officers to review the arrangements being put in for better traffic management in the district. Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Superintending Engineers of various departments, Joint Director Panning, Joint Commissioner Administration, SMC, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (Central) with Divisional Commissioner, who is also Collector PWD, Project Manager ERA, Senior Manager NBCC, Deputy General Manager BSNL and Chief Sanitation Officer, SMC attended the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon the officers to remove all the bottlenecks on the roads including construction material of government as well as public within seven days for smooth ply of traffic on the roads of Srinagar city. He also directed for replacing of worn out electric poles and pipes besides shifting of other utilities for the said purpose. A committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar with Joint Commissioner SMC, SEs of PDD, PHE, R&B and Additional Deputy Commissioner as members was constituted on the occasion for carrying out constructions within the city. Rs. 3 lakh were released by the Deputy Commissioner for shifting of utilities on the roadsides for better traffic management. |
